  Installing Your Retractable Awning

Installation Procedure
Installation of a Retractable Awning is very simple. With your awning there will be a set of very detailed step-by-step self installation instructions. Generally installation follows this procedure:
  • Place the awning next to the designated wall.
  • Determine where to install the brackets. The brackets will have to be spaced out properly as determined by the wall studs.
  • All brackets must be in line and level in order for the unit to fit freely in the brackets.
  • Set the awning into the brackets and lock in with the T-Nut and bolt (supplied).
  • All awnings by Awnings.US are pre-adjusted at the plant. If required, you can adjust the pitch after installation

Specialty Tools Needed
In addition to your standard home improvement tools (e.g. Ladder(s), Drill, Drill Bits, Extension Cords, etc.) the following special tools are needed to adjust and mount the awnings.
  • 1/2" Socket/Ratchet for Brackets
  • 1/2" Open End Wrench to attach the Hood (if ordered)
  • 17mm (metric) Socket for Slide Unit (to change pitch)
  • 13mm (metric) Socket for brackets
  • 10mm Socket/Wrench for gear adjustment (if necessary)
  • Allen wrench set

Motors
Important! Always check the limits when you are extending and retracting the awning for the first time to make sure they are properly set.

All limits are set at the plant initially, a motor instruction and wiring sheet will be supplied.
