Frequently Asked Questions
| What
size can you make an awning? |
|
Typically awnings can be made to your specifications.
Widths can be up to 35 Feet and Projections up to 13
feet. However,
multiple awnings can be combined to achieve larger
coverage as shown below.

Multiple awnings installed to give maximum coverage.

| What's
the wind rating for awnings? |
A good rule of thumb
when using a retractable awning is: as long
as you are comfortable sitting on your deck reading a newspaper,
the awning will be fine.
If it is too windy for you and you leave your deck simply
retract the awning to storage position. We recommend retracting
your awning at wind speeds of more than 20 mph.
|
| Are awnings waterproof ? |
| Your awning can be extended during
rain to protect you from sudden showers or a light drizzle. As to
whether it is waterproof, think of it like a tent - if exposed to
water for a period of time it will
eventually let some water through. Make
sure to let the awning dry before retracting it. If you
have to bring the awning in while still wet, make sure the next day
you extended it and let it dry.
Contact us, if you need specialty fabric that is
water and fire proof. There is a small number of fabrics
available. See here
for waterproof and fire resistant fabrics.
|
| How much does an awning cost ? |
Our awnings are custom made to fit your needs and the size of
your deck or patio so cost depends on the size of your awning,
the type of operator you want, and
the complexity of the installation.
To get an exact estimate choose a model and the fabric you
want, then fill in the details for size, mounting style,
operator type, etc. After you have entered specifications on
your awning needs your shopping cart will display the exact price.
|
| Is
installing my new awning difficult? |

all. Find your studs, mount the brackets, make sure they
